Members and paid content
Members are people who make an account on your site, so you can keep some pages for them only. Paid content goes one step further: pages only the people who bought them can open.
Members, paid pages and downloads are part of Pro. On the Free plan, More › Site settings › Members shows Upgrade to Pro. See the pricing page.
Choose who can join
Open More › Site settings › Members and pick Who can join:
Anyone can join: visitors make an account with their email (or Google) and are members straight away.
Anyone can ask — you approve each person: you are emailed each request, and approve people in Members.
Only people you invite: nobody can sign up; invitations and paid content still work.
Letting anyone join or ask needs a privacy page, so people know what you do with their email address. Choose yours under Privacy page, or press Make a privacy page to start one.
Keep a page for members
Open the page, then the Pages tab on the left.
Under Who can see this page, choose Members only — anyone signed in, or one of your groups.
Publish.
Everyone puts the page back in front of all visitors.
Invite people and manage members
In More › Site settings › Members:
Invite people: type email addresses, one per line. Each person is emailed an invitation with a link to choose a password.
Approve someone who asked to join.
Groups: type a name under New group and press Make group, then choose a group for a page under Who can see this page.
Download list saves your members as a file.
Sell paid content
Make the pages you want to sell.
In More › Site settings › Shop, add a product and set What a sale gives to Paid content — pages only buyers can open. See The shop.
For each page, choose Paid content — buyers of "your product" under Who can see this page.
Publish.
To give paid content to someone without a sale, use Give paid content in Members.
