Your own domain
Every site has a free address, your-address.sites.aiwebinfra.com. You can use a domain you already own instead, such as www.yourbusiness.com.
Before you start
Your own domain is part of Pro ($15 a month per site, or $150 a year). On the Free plan, More › Site settings › Domain shows Upgrade this website. See the pricing page.
We don't sell domains yet. This connects a domain you have already bought from a domain company (Namecheap, GoDaddy, Cloudflare and so on).
Connect your domain
Open More › Site settings › Domain.
Type it in Domain you already own, for example
www.yourbusiness.com.Press Check it first if you want to see what your domain does today and what switching it takes. Nothing is changed.
Press Connect this domain.
The editor shows one record to add. Sign in where your domain's settings (its "DNS") are managed, usually the company you bought it from, and add that record exactly as shown. It both sends visitors to your site and proves the domain is yours, so there is no second record. Show the steps for your DNS provider gives the steps for your company where we know it.
We keep checking for the record for up to 7 days. Nothing about your website changes until the domain is live.
What the status means
Waiting for your DNS record: we haven't seen the record yet. Changes can take a while to reach everyone; give it time, and check you typed it exactly.
Checking: we have seen the record and are setting up your domain's security certificate.
Live: your site shows at your domain.
Paused — needs the Pro plan: the site is no longer on Pro.
Did not work: the editor says why. Fix that, press Remove, and connect it again, or contact support.
yourbusiness.com or www.yourbusiness.com?
Many domain companies don't allow the kind of record a bare domain (without www.) needs. The dependable way is to connect www.yourbusiness.com, then, at your domain company, forward yourbusiness.com to https://www.yourbusiness.com. Check it first tells you what your company allows.
Stop using the domain
Open More › Site settings › Domain and press Remove, then Remove it. Your site carries on at its free address.
